Your member-led committees have been busy this past year—improving processes. working on new initiatives, and making plans for future development. Several committees report back here as part of this quarterly update.
The Personality and Social Psychology Review (PSPR) seeks a new Editor for the term of January 1, 2022-December 31, 2025. Nominations are due February 28, 2021 and must include a CV and statement of interest which should include a brief description of editorial philosophy (one page or less). All inquiries and/or nominations should be submitted to Ed Hirt, Chair of the Editor Search Committee, ehirt@indiana.edu.
The Society’s flagship empirical journal—the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin—will be led by a new team of editors starting January 1, 2021 for a period of four years. Congratulations to the new team!
The Nominations and Elections Committee is seeking eligible, qualified candidates for SPSP’s leadership positions and your participation is needed! APA is currently seeking proposals for the August 2021 annual meeting. An in-person meeting will tentatively take place, however divisions are planning for 100% pre-recorded virtual programming. APA 2021 Call for Reviewers
SPSP seeks members to review symposia and poster submissions for Division 8 programming. Graduate students and early career scholars are encouraged to participate. You will receive ~10 abstracts to review by January 19, 2021 and you will have approximately 3 weeks to complete your review. E-mail Ludwin Molina with your name, affiliation and position by January 4, 2021 if you would like to participate.
Weekly Zoom meetups next month will include discussions around nonacademic careers, womxn thriving in academia, tenure-track positions at business schools, the journal peer review process, and more!
