Mahzarin Banaji's Campbell Address at the 2017 SPSP Annual Convention

In her address as the recipient of the 2016 Donald T. Campbell Award, Mahzarin Banaji discussed strangeness as extraordinary and a signal of something important.

 
Q&pAy 2017 Small Grant Competition: The Contest and the Research
Xuan Zhao, John Sakaluk, and Stefanie Tignor competed in the Q&pAy live competition. Xuan won the competition and received a $5,000 grant, and John and Stefanie each received $2,500 grants.
 
 
‘Eating Wisely’, a Book Review of Secrets from the Eating Lab
Traci Mann’s Secrets from the Eating Lab was awarded the 2016 SPSP Book Prize. Nicholas Epley, a member of the panel that selected the Book Prize winner, provides a review of the book.

SPSP Response to Executive Order on Visas and Immigration
SPSP joined with 160 other science organizations to send a letter in response to the White House Executive Order on visas and immigration. It stresses the importance of international collaborations in making science stronger. 
 
New Shared-Interest Group: March for Science
A March for Science is being organized for April 22 to advocate for science and evidence-based research in policies. We have created a new shared-interest group to help SPSP members connect around the march.
 
Nominations Now Open: Editorship of PSPR
Nominations (including self-nominations) are now open for the editorship of PSPR. Nominations should include a CV and statement of one page or less, and should be emailed to Shige Oishi.

Spring 2017 Small Research Grant Program Projects Funded
You can learn more about the eight research projects that received almost $11,000 in total funding under the “past recipients” tab of the program page, or apply for summer 2017 cycle funding.
 
Conferences Funded by the Spring 2017 Small Conference Grant Program
Two conferences each received $5,000 grants: The University of California Well-Being Conference and Gender Roles in the Future? Theoretical Foundations and Future Research Directions.
